Winter Warm Up

Launched in Winter 2024 with support from the Community Foundation of Otsego County and a generous private donation from a local family, the Winter Warmup Program provides essential outdoor winter gear—including waterproof insulated boots, snow pants, winter coats, hats,
mittens, and scarves—for children from birth through 6th grade.

This initiative is dedicated to promoting children’s health, well-being, and protection from the harsh winter elements. The goal is simple: to ensure that no child is left behind—whether playing in freshly fallen snow or joining their peers at recess—because they lack proper winter clothing.

The Unadilla Food Pantry leads this effort in collaboration with the Otego Food Pantry, Opportunities for Otsego’s Head Start program in Unadilla, and the Unatego Elementary School Backpack Program, working together to meet the needs of children across the Unatego area.
